As a California licensed real estate agent with 16+ years appraisal experience and current Certified Level Appraiser license , I can provide you with guidance far more valuable than the average agent holding just a sales license. Agents are not trained in valuation. My experience helps with pricing when listing, negotiating when buying or selling, and staying a step ahead of the appraisal phase of a transaction…which can make or break a deal. Truly understanding the appraisal side and the related lending issues gives insight on who to select as a buyer, and how to minimize risk of losing time and money on a transaction.
Most real estate agents must work on volume in this commission driven business. I have the ability, however, to work as an appraiser during slow periods. This means that I am not desperate to push anyone into a sale or purchase, as my income stream comes from two places. I only work with a limited number of clients at a time to ensure quality communication and minimalization of stress.
